Membership Representative (Front Desk Staff) Clay/Vigo County

Position Summary: Delivers excellent services to all members and guests. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs.

Essential Functions:
1. Provides excellent service to members and guests in the facility and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
2. Builds relationships with members.
3. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

4. Handles cash flow at front desk

5. Efficiently works through Daxko computer program

Qualifications:
1. Problem solving skills.
2. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
3. Previous customer service or related experience.
4. Basic knowledge of computers and phones.

5. Experience handling money

6. High school diploma or higher (some college preferred)

7. Flexible schedule.

Group Exercise Instructor - Kids Fitness Vigo County

The YMCA is looking for a group exercise instructor to provide enjoyable, high quality, and safe group exercise classes for YMCA youth members.

Essential Functions
Serves as role model to members and Y staff, and at all times lives the mission, vision and values of the YMCA movement
Ensures safety of class participants by following group fitness best practices
Reports any accidents, concerns, or equipment troubles to supervisor immediately.
Ensures that all equipment and supplies needed for class are available prior to the start of class
Returns all equipment and supplies used to proper location after each class.
Makes sure all participants are treating equipment properly to prevent damage, accidents, spread of disease.
Attends all required trainings and meetings.
Interacts with class participants before and after class to foster relationships with and between participants

Certifications and Other Qualifications
YMCA, MOSSA. ACE, ASFA or ACSM Group Fitness Instructor Certification required upon hire.
Current CPR certification and basic first aid training.
Must be available to teach at least one class per week.
Experience is a plus.

Summer Camp Counselor Clay/Vigo Counties

This position supports the work of the Y by serving community members through providing competent child care before and after school. Counselors provide snack, homework help and support, as well as supervised and structured play time, both inside and outside, for the children in the program.

Counselors also work as a team to ensure the children’s safety by working with parents and children to instill YMCA Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Honesty. Must have ability to make connections and relationships with the children and parents alike.This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Assists Camp Director in all aspects of Summer Camp Program and supervision of assigned staff and sites. Ensures safe, fun, engaging environment for staff, participants and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Previous supervisory experience in youth programming preferred.

2. High level of understanding and motivation working in child care environment.

3. Demonstrates positive attitude and appreciates the needs of children. Has patience and enthusiasm. Displays the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, staff, and community.

4.Within 30 days of hire, completion of Child Abuse Prevention Training. Within 60 days of hire, completion of CPR, AED, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens Trainings. Fulfillment and completion of all other YMCA program specific trainings within 90 days.

5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

6. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate
program activities.
